Desktop Stories: Holidays on Desktop
It snows on your screen, the snow settles on your windows, a light chain twinkles along the edge – and every now and then someone drops by: kids build a snowman, a sledder looks for the next slope and Santa flies across the sky.
For Windows 10 and 11 · free · optional Winter Magic Edition
This is what it looks like on a real desktop: the snow settles on the window, and icicles grow underneath.
Winter that lives on your desktop.
Holidays on Desktop runs quietly in the background. You keep working as usual – and your desktop turns into a little winter landscape.
Snow that settles
Flakes drift across the desktop and settle on window edges and along the bottom of the screen. Snowy windows even grow icicles.
Light chain
Twinkling lights along the screen edges of your choice – with realistic flickering. They can fade out under the mouse pointer.
Life on your desktop
Snowmen, snowball fights, sledders and people out for a walk – and up in the sky, Santa with his reindeer sleigh.
Wintry wallpaper
A snowy forest at night that matches the snow and lights. Your previous wallpaper comes back as soon as you turn the option off.
Stays out of your way
Pauses in full screen and when the desktop is covered, leaves the taskbar free and can also run on additional monitors.
No ads, no tracking
No advertising, no telemetry, no data transfer. Everything runs only on your PC – details in the privacy policy.
The Winter Magic Edition
Holidays on Desktop is free. The Winter Magic Edition gives you all figures and full control over the light chain – for about the price of a hot cocoa at the Christmas market.
- Penguins, a Christmas tree with presents, a gnome, a squirrel, a dog and much more
- Light chain: themes, colors, blink patterns, blink rate and size
- Buy once – no subscription
Purchase and payment are handled by the Microsoft Store. To unlock it in the app: right-click the tray icon → “Unlock the Winter Magic Edition …”
