In short

Holidays on Desktop does not collect any personal data and does not send any data to us or to third parties. The app contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking services and no telemetry.

What data the app processes

To make the snow and the light chain work, the app processes the following exclusively on your device:

• The position and size of visible windows, so that snow can settle on the window edges. Window titles and window contents are not read.
• The position of the mouse pointer, to hide the part of the light chain under the pointer. It is not stored.
• Your settings, for example borders, snow and figures. They are stored in a file under %AppData%\HolidaysOnDesktop, together with a small log for troubleshooting. Neither leaves your device.

Wallpaper and autostart

• If you turn on the wintry wallpaper, the app saves the image in your Pictures folder, sets it as your desktop background and remembers your previous wallpaper so it can restore it when you turn the feature off.
• If you turn on “Start with Windows”, the app adds itself to the autostart of your user account.

Both happen only locally and only at your request.

Purchases through the Microsoft Store

The Winter Magic Edition is offered as an in-app purchase through the Microsoft Store. Purchase, payment and license verification are handled entirely by Microsoft. We do not receive any payment or account data. The Microsoft Privacy Statement applies.

Your rights

Since we do not store any personal data about you, there is nothing we could provide information about or delete. You can remove your local settings yourself at any time: uninstall the app or delete the folder %AppData%\HolidaysOnDesktop. If you have any questions, you can reach us at the address above.

Changes

Should a future version transmit any data, for example for voluntary error reports, we will update this privacy policy beforehand.
